AFSCME Local 3661 proudly represents the dedicated professionals who help ensure the safety and well-being of Maryland’s communities. Our members perform a wide range of essential duties—from supervising individuals on home detention to preparing warrants for parole violators. We are deeply rooted in the communities we serve, working every day to support the rehabilitation and growth of responsible, productive citizens.
Our Mission
Our local plays a critical role in advancing public safety across Maryland. We are committed to fostering a collaborative partnership with leadership from the Division of Parole and Probation, the Maryland Parole Commission, the Home Detention Unit, Pretrial Release Services, and the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services' Police Communication Operators. Together, we work to promote meaningful improvements within the community corrections system and elevate the voices of those who serve on its front lines.
